Have Your Books Become Clutter?
I am an avid reader (if you couldn’t tell from my previous entries). I have always read for pleasure and for self-improvement. But books can become clutter.
How do you know when your books have become clutter? You know when you are buying more storage units to store your books, when they are all over your home or when they start to weigh you down.
Here are some steps to thin out your book collection:
- Keep only those books you love, reference often or are one-of-a-kind.
- Get rid of books that are stained, damaged or have so much dust on them that you know you rarely use them.
- For every new book you bring into your home send one out.
- Trade in books at a used book store.
- Swap books with friends or relatives.
- Donate books to a local charity, library or hospital.
- Sell books in your next yard sale.
- Borrow books you want to read from the library instead of buying them.
So take the next step and schedule some time in the next week to go through those books and let the ones go that are weighing you down.
