Spring Is In The Air…Is It Time To De-clutter Your Life?

by Michaeline on March 17, 2009

The approach of spring has many people thinking about spring cleaning. Are you one of those people?

Being brought up in a household that believed strongly in spring and fall cleaning this process became a ritual for me as I was growing up. At the end of the process I remember that I definitely felt different about the space I lived in. Well, I felt that I had more space and I felt lighter.

Whether you go through the spring cleaning process or not, whether you regularly schedule cleaning and organizing sessions or not, this time of year is a great time to de-clutter…to rid yourself of the clutter in your life.

What is clutter? Clutter is anything that you want to let go of, but haven’t yet. It is the excess stuff in your space, your mind and your body. This could be things you do not use or love, things that are untidy or disorganized, too many things in a too small space, and anything that is unfinished business.
Clutter drags you down, drains you of energy and causes negative feelings.

Think about the clutter in your life. Awareness and identifying your clutter is the first step in de-cluttering. What are your hot spots? What is no longer useful to you? Write it down today and check back for more on clutter and clutter busting tips.
