Well I learned something from my journaling last week. I am great at project management…tackling a cutter busting project and making it happen. What got out of control for me this last year was time.
Now it is a myth that you can manage time. We all have only 24-hours in a day. We have to pick the best way to use it. If you want to call it time management that is fine, but it is really a matter of priority management or implementing daily practices.
I let maintenance tasks go in the face of some work and families issues. I could argue that my priorities changed, but they really didn’t. Life just happened and I forgot to take the reins when things shifted again and I let my routines or daily practices slip totally when I could have made adjustments or worked Plan B.
So I have created my basement project plan to get it whipped back into shape with bigger plans to eventually spruce it up. I have also looked at my routines to see where I can schedule basement maintenance on a regular basis. Right now since I am in project mode, I have scheduled maintenance for quarterly and will reassess when I finish the project.
What’s your plan for your basement?
