Are You Stuck in the Roundabout?

by Michaeline on February 16, 2013

This month seems to provoke analogies related to Groundhog Day. So bear with me.

The other day as I was driving through four roundabouts, one after the other, I acknowledged again that life is somewhat life driving through a roundabout. Sometimes we feel stuck in the same spot because there is no break or flow, sometimes there are too many options and we can’t settle on one and sometimes it is just the place we need to be to pause of a minute and reflect on our direction.

As my life coach reminds me, sometimes being in a holding pattern or being where we are for a little while even if it feels like we are not moving forward is all right especially if it helps get one to where they want to be. Again, it’s all about how you look at this.

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. ~ Dr. Wayne Dyer

Are you experiencing a Groundhog Day (life)?

by Michaeline on February 2, 2013

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. ~ Albert Einstein

Today is Groundhog Day and Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow so that means an early spring. I am of the opinion that the first day of spring is six weeks (March 20) away one way or the other so this is just another fun traditional activity.

For me, when Groundhog Day comes around I think about the 1993 movie starring Bill Murray. Bill Murray’s character, Phil, experiences the same day and over again. Each time February 2 starts again, he finally adjusts based on what he knows will happen so he can get it “just right”.

So I consider this day symbolic as it is another opportunity to consider making changes in your life. As the quote above indicates, many of us expect our lives to change even though we don’t change our thoughts or behaviors. [click to continue…]

In my last post I asked you to list a longing and develop steps to make at least one happen in 2011. You probably thought I was joking, right? How could you even consider accomplishing a longing when you can barely get through a day? Obligations, duties, responsibilities have to be completed and there are [...]

“Knowing your deepest intention can be your guiding force in the creation of a better life.” — Oprah This quote came to me the other day via the Thought for the Day from http://www.ophra.com. I thought it so ironic that this particular email would find me as I focus on choice. Achieving goals is all [...]

Often when I am searching for answers inspiration comes in to my life in the form of a person, event or reading. The website www.dailyom.com again provided that inspiration for moving forwarding and getting unstuck. I have come to a conclusion that sometimes when we feel stuck we may actually be fearful of what moving [...]
