In my last post I asked you to list a longing and develop steps to make at least one happen in 2011.

You probably thought I was joking, right? How could you even consider accomplishing a longing when you can barely get through a day?

Obligations, duties, responsibilities have to be completed and there are only 24 hours in a day.

But don’t you have a responsibility to yourself?

If you are looking for more balance give yourself permission to spend some of your precious 24 hours on you and your priorities so that you can indeed feel more balanced. If you do that everyone will benefit…if you take care of you…fill the well…balance your personal and professional life….you will have more time and more of yourself to give to others.

That is my longing for you…to see that you have the choice to obtain one of your longings so that you can feel more fulfilled.

“Knowing your deepest intention can be your guiding force in the creation of a better life.”
— Oprah

This quote came to me the other day via the Thought for the Day from http://www.ophra.com. I thought it so ironic that this particular email would find me as I focus on choice.

Achieving goals is all about your perspective…it’s about the daily choices you make. In a related article to the above quote the author talks about intentions, goals and actions. Or stated another way- ask, believe and act as defined in The Secret by Rhonda Byrne.

If you are feeling stuck and unable toachieve the goals you have set for yourself ask yourself if your goal is intentional and then make the choice to act on that goal. What goal will you pick and what is your intention?

I decided to look up the definition of choice since I seem to be using that word a lot lately. Here’s what www.mirram-webster.com/dictionary/choice listed:
1choice noun \?cho?is\
Definition of CHOICE
1: the act of choosing : SELECTION
2: POWER of choosing : OPTION
3a : the best part : CREAM b : a person or thing chosen
4: a number and variety to choose among
5: care in selecting

What struck me is the word power in defining choice. The fact that the choices we make on a daily basis are powerful options…we choose to stop at the gas station now or we choose to wait until the morning. We make the choice to get up when the alarm clock rings so we can exercise before work or we choose to hit the snooze button.

We make choices all the time for ourselves and yet we sometimes fail to see that making no choice or staying stuck is also a choice that we make. We have the power to accept things as they are (tolerations) or to change them.

So make a choice today that takes you closer to a goal or dream…just the choice to take one baby step is all you need. Just make the choice.

Often when I am searching for answers inspiration comes in to my life in the form of a person, event or reading. The website www.dailyom.com again provided that inspiration for moving forwarding and getting unstuck.

I have come to a conclusion that sometimes when we feel stuck we may actually be fearful of what moving forward will bring us. This posting from Daily Om reminded me that if we just work through the uncomfortable we get to the light: http://www.dailyom.com/articles/2009/19966.html

If you are looking for the light to shine in your life, if you desire to get unstuck and move forward with your journey you can:
• Meditate
• Journal
• Seek support
• Think positively/use affirmations
• Just do it! Leap

How do you become unstuck?
