It’s All About Choice

by Michaeline on October 9, 2010

I decided to look up the definition of choice since I seem to be using that word a lot lately. Here’s what www.mirram-webster.com/dictionary/choice listed:
1choice noun \?cho?is\
Definition of CHOICE
1: the act of choosing : SELECTION
2: POWER of choosing : OPTION
3a : the best part : CREAM b : a person or thing chosen
4: a number and variety to choose among
5: care in selecting

What struck me is the word power in defining choice. The fact that the choices we make on a daily basis are powerful options…we choose to stop at the gas station now or we choose to wait until the morning. We make the choice to get up when the alarm clock rings so we can exercise before work or we choose to hit the snooze button.

We make choices all the time for ourselves and yet we sometimes fail to see that making no choice or staying stuck is also a choice that we make. We have the power to accept things as they are (tolerations) or to change them.

So make a choice today that takes you closer to a goal or dream…just the choice to take one baby step is all you need. Just make the choice.

Catch Happiness Now!

by Michaeline on October 2, 2010

Are you happy?

With the economy, daily hassles, work pressures, health issues, and other worries it would seem that there is no such thing as happiness.

I would beg to differ and so would Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project. I have been following the Women’s Day Magazine’s year-long challenge about happiness. I have learned from reading these articles that we have a chance…no a choice… every day to be happy. Every decision, event, circumstance provides us with a choice.

Happiness or being happy is an attitude. Happiness is a daily decision. Choose happiness today.

If everything isn’t perfectly organized, why bother? Does that sound familiar? That type of thinking can get you stuck and cause clutter to get the best of you. A Little Thing Called Attitude

July 12, 2008

In my home office I have hung the poem “Attitude“  by Charles Swindoll in a prominent location. I have found that if I am having difficulty with certain situations in my personal or professional life I assess my attitude about it. In many of these instances it has been negative or I have not felt in control, challenged or [...]
