clearing clutter

When I think of fall I think of change.  In a recent post I gave you several ideas for fall organizing projects. Did you do one or several?

Sometimes just changing the décor in a small space like your entry way can go a long way to lighten the clutter and create a new feel.

So just break out the fall decorations this weekend….do a little dusting and rearranging of a small area and feel the “space”  you created.

The Journey Into Clutter Busting: The Coat Closet

by Michaeline on September 17, 2011

Ahh…I can feel fall right around the corner. We are transitioning in Michigan from one season to the other. For me that means cleaning out the coat closet as part of my September routine (I also schedule time in April as well).

There is nothing like pulling out all the items in the closet and giving it a good dusting and floor washing. Then before all the items are put back I evaluate what to keep, donate or toss and also review if the items I am using (bins, hangers, etc.) are working.

There were a few things that needed buttons and will be repaired and several items that I am taking to the consignment shop. And there are one or two things I am looking at adding to update my wardrobe for the season. There were also a couple of items that I found that I forgot I had from last year.
