Does the New Year inspire you? It inspires me to look at my accomplishments and formulate my intentions for the upcoming year.
And while I have given up making resolutions, I do use this time of year to reflect and reframe.
In focusing this year on the word ‘be,” I was looking at ways that this word could inspire me. And the word be is about being present in the moment. To find inspiration, I am considering what I want to work on or what is important to me. Is it a relationship, time spent with loved ones, developing deeper connections or a healthy lifestyle?
There is a limited number of hours in a day. Twenty-four to be exact. So what it really comes down to is choice. Choosing the important over the urgent and being in the moment.
In thinking that through, I decided to go back to mission and again this year, focus on a mission statement each month with being at the forefront. This allows me to have a direction for a period of time and not feel overwhelmed while encouraging me to take small steps toward the larger focus.
I am now truly inspired to be.
