Were you surprised by my post on planning early for a joyful holiday season?
Think about holidays past. Have you rushed through all the items on your checklist just to get them done, but realized at the end that there are many tasks that do not give you joy or satisfaction? Maybe they did bring joy at one time, but now you are doing them just because you have always done them.
As you begin the countdown to both Thanksgiving and your holiday celebrations, are there some items that you could take off your list? Or, if you feel that you can’t take them off the list, then what if you delegated the task or modified the task?
Take a moment today to review that holiday checklist and determine if all those items on it still matter. If they do, make sure you schedule time for them and spread them over the next several weeks. If they do not, then happily let them go.
With a little thought and planning and by making some choices, you can create a joyful holiday for yourself and your loved ones.
Wishing you holiday happiness.
