The Journey Into Clutter Busting: What’s In A Word?

by Michaeline on January 21, 2012

I have replaced New Year’s resolutions with a theme word for the year. For 2012 my word is surrender.

Now I am not talking about giving up or waving the white flag, but surrendering to the opportunities presented to me. Working on controlling things less and going with the flow instead to see where that takes me.

What do you think about selecting a word versus making a resolution?

What word would you choose for yourself this year? Intrigued by the idea? A great website/resource to assist you through the process is http://myoneword.org/choose/.

No More Resolutions…No More Excuses!

January 23, 2010

Why do we each year go through the activity of setting New Year’s resolutions only to give up a few short weeks later? Typically, resolutions are about changing habits, habits perpetuated by “long established habits of thought that have lead you to use excuses as your rationale for staying the same,” as stated by Dr. [...]

I had the pleasure of attending a local fundraising event last night put on by an amazing woman who personifies the adage “it is better to give than receive”.
